Version 2.0 looks like it's exactly what I need. However, I have a Storm. I blew my 5 day trial confirming that the pre-v2.0 mform would not run on the Storm. When will I be able to run inform on my Storm and how do I get a second trial to check it out?

Hi JackK7,

We are not yet officially supporting the Storm even with version 2.0. Although it works. We will be releasing a patch release for the Storm in the next couple of weeks to fix an issue with the select boxes.

In the meantime, mostall functions on the storm other than the select box should work. To do the trial again please uninstall and reinstall the

Thank you,

The Skysoft Team.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The select box problem was what stopped me in my tracks during the trial, as my application would go from convenient to a big pain to use without them. I'll keep watching this thread to see when the boxes start working so I can start working on my application.

Great, thanks, we will keep you posted. We now have our Storm device from RIM so we will be able to certify (and fix) the issues shortly.

Glad to hear you got your Storm. Things are moving along. Now if RIM would come out with a firmware upgrade and get rid of some of their bugs.........whoops, now I'm starting to fantasize. For now I'll settle for working selection boxes.

You actually bring up a good point. Our fixes can only go so far. From what we've seen there are a few glitches on the device that we won't be able to overcome, but they should be small ones.

With the Storm being such a new device, and with it having its own set of bugs, it could get a little tricky figuring which bugs are coming from which software. You need to look at Blackberry's version numbers.

The Storms sold on day one had OS version 4.7.0.65. This was almost immediately updated to v 4.7.0.75 which cleaned up a lot of bugs, but also left a lot. Since then there hasn't been an official OS release. However, BB has been leaking newer beta versions of the OS ever since the .75 release. The more adventuress members of the crackberry.com user forum have been trying these betas.

The latest stable version is 4.7.0.86 and this is rumored to be quite close to what Verizon will be releasing next month as the official OS update. Right now on the Crackberry.com forum, is a link to the new OS and writeups on the updating procedure for these unofficial OS's. In your certification process, you may want to try your software on this .86 OS.

Thanks for this useful posting JackK7! I have to admiit I've been playing with the Storm abit more and now that I'm over the initial shock of not having that familiar keyboard, I am starting to get used to it. The media capabilities are great. The unit is abit heavy though.

I haven't heard whether the storm is now compatible or not. Looking outside of the forum, for compatibility it says, " All RIM BlackBerry Devices are currently supported (All 7xxx series,8xxx series,Pearl,Curve, Bold)". It says all RIM BlackBerry devices, and then proceeds to list every device EXCEPT the Storm.

I'm anxious to buy as soon as I get the word that this will work on the Storm.

I could not wait. Before you had a chance to respond, I downloaded a trial copy and tried it. It had the same problem as 6 weeks ago - you cannot use the select blocks. I would think about every application would use select blocks, so Skysoft is not yet ready for the Storm.

A lot of programs for the Storm have select blocks, so I know it's quite possible. An example would be Handango's free In Hand program. Their Traffic alert select block is scrollable and includes every major city in the US. That would be a great block for inForm. I see that Handango sells inForm and they have it as compatible with the storm. They might be willing to give you some tips to avoid having angry Storm owners demanding their money back.

My, how time fly's. It's hard to believe that seven weeks have gone by since that "couple of weeks" commitment was made.

This application looks ideal for what I want to create but I have the Storm and the two others have Curves. Will need to have all of us working together.
Also waiting for a patch.

I also have a storm, I am using inForm to display data only until a storm version is released. I have read that if you uninstall inForm then re-install it you would restart the trial version. I have not personally try this though, I have bought the program even without storm support and I am making very good use of it even without the added capabilities.
