Dear Customers,

Please see the release notes for mForm 2.0, to be released in 2-3 weeks time.

New Features in V-2.0.16

The product name has been changed to avoid copyright infringements. The product has been renamed from mForm to inForm.

The following is an overview of the new features available in moving from mForm 1.0.23 to inForm 2.0.16. For a further description on how to use the new features please refer to the inForm 2.0.16 User’s manual document (inForm_User_Guide_V2016.pdf).

Wireless Device-to-Device Support
Records can now be shared and updated in real-time within a team group without the need for any server side software. Records can be created or modified and these updates can be instantly reflected on all devices within the team.

Drag and Drop Form Editor on PC client
The previous table based form designer has been replaced by a graphical form designer. Forms can now be designed much more rapidly in a visual manner. Specific device screens can be targeted or generic ‘one size fits all’ applications can be built.

Send and Receive Data Tab on PC client
You can now send and receive data from a form directly to the PC in CSV format using either your USB connection or email. For teams, email submissions from several devices can now be merged into a single CSV file.

Subforms
Subforms can now be created. Subforms currently support all existing controls but do not yet support events.

Enhanced Record Operations
Select All, Multiselect actions are now available. You can now perform bulk operations such as submit, email, and delete on multiselected records

Enhanced Search Features
The ability to search on all form fields is now available. In addition, searches can be saved for later use. Case sensitivity on searches is now removed.

Dynamic Record Filter
You can now use a dynamic record filter directly in the form listing screen to find desired records.

Navigation Quick Keys
You can now advance through records using ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ keys. In addition, you can jump through the record listings using ‘screen up’ and ‘screen down’ keys.

Navigation ‘Memory’
When entering or leaving a form listing screen, the application now remembers your position on the screen.

Additional Listing Columns Support
You can now use up to 5 listing columns on your form listing screen

Default Sorts for Listing Columns
Default Sorts for the listing columns can now be defined on the PC client.

Larger Text Field Support
You can now add up to 500 characters to a single text field.

Comboboxes Enhancement
Comboboxes now allow users to add or change items directly on the device.

Text Link Control
There is a new Text Link Control which serves the same function as the Button control, but takes less room up on the device display

Form Name Changes
Users can now change form names directly on the device. This is controlled by a permission set when the form is created.

‘Show Dialog’ Form Action
You can now show a form dialog as an action in the events manager

Large Record Support
The device is now able to handle up to 10,000 records on a device.

New Events
Two new events were created – formsaveevent and formsubmitevent.

SetValue Enhancements
The SetValue action now allows you to set the value of the Submitto address so that forms can be routed to different individuals based on form selections

Additional Date/Time calculations
You can now add and subtract Date/Time fields as well as add whole numbers to dates and times.

Enhanced Error Logging
An Error log is now available in the event that forms are not working on the device. In addition, an error log is sent back to the sender of a form definition via email if there is an issue parsing the form.

Any updates on this? I have tried mForm and was getting ready to purchase, but would rather wait for the new release, unless a free upgrade will be allowed.

Thanks for your message. Please note the product name change due to a registered copyright:

inForm 2.0 Beta Install

Blackberry Client:

Point your Blackberry Web Browser at:

http://www.skysoftsystems.com/inform.jad

PC Application Builder:

Dowload the ZIP file from:

http://www.skysoftsystems.com/inForm_2_0_16.zip

Open the .zip file and click on Setup.exe

One issue in particular which we do not yet have resolution to is that when
you select a record from the form listing and select 'submit' nothing
happens. When you select 'submit' a second time, the application will
crash. Once launched again, the application works, but you need to reset
the device to use USB. Once reset, the application works. Of course, one
way around this issue until resolved is to use the 'email' feature and setup
your submissions this way.
